Bot It AI (“Bot It,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website botitai.com and the Bot It Shopify application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our application.

Information You Provide

  • Account information: When you install Bot It on your Shopify store, we collect your store name, Shopify domain, email address, and Shopify access token.
  • Brand content: Brand voice guidelines, product narratives, collection narratives, FAQs, and other content you enter into the Bot It dashboard.
  • Contact information: Name and email address when you contact us for support.

Information Collected Automatically

  • AI agent traffic data: We log interactions between AI shopping agents and your store through Bot It, including agent identifiers, queries, page types visited, and timestamps.
  • MCP proxy logs: For Pro plan users, we log MCP requests processed through the Bot It enrichment proxy, including tool names, query text, and response times. Logs are retained for 90 days.
  • Website analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 to collect standard usage data on botitai.com, including pages visited, referral sources, and device information.
  • Cookies: We use cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Bot It application
  • To enrich your product data and serve optimized MCP responses to AI agents
  • To generate analytics about AI agent traffic to your store
  • To sync your brand content to Shopify’s Knowledge Base (if enabled)
  • To communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • Shopify: We interact with Shopify’s APIs to provide our service. Your brand content may be written to Shopify metafields (Knowledge Base sync) at your direction.
  • AI agents: The purpose of Bot It is to serve enriched data to AI shopping agents. Content you enter (brand voice, narratives, FAQs) will be included in MCP responses served to AI agents.
  • Service providers: We use third-party services for hosting (InMotion), analytics (Google), and AI processing (Anthropic) that may process data on our behalf.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.

4. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained while your Bot It app is installed. Deleted within 30 days of uninstallation upon request.
  • MCP proxy logs: Retained for 90 days (Pro plan), then automatically deleted.
  • AI agent session data: Retained for 12 months for analytics purposes.
  • Brand content: Retained while your app is installed. You can delete content at any time from the dashboard.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (TLS/SSL), secure access token storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Object to or restrict processing of your information
  • Data portability

7. Third-Party Services

Bot It integrates with third-party review platforms (Judge.me, Yotpo, Loox, Stamped.io, Okendo) at your direction. When you connect a review integration, we access review data through their APIs. Please review their respective privacy policies.

8. Children’s Privacy

Bot It is a business tool for Shopify merchants. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of Bot It after changes constitutes acceptance.
