Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Bot It AI website (botitai.com) and the Bot It Shopify application (“Service”) operated by Bot It AI (“Bot It,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By installing or using Bot It, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

Bot It is a Shopify application that optimizes your store’s visibility to AI shopping agents. The Service includes:

  • Generation and serving of discovery files (UCP manifest, agents.txt, llms.txt, commerce.txt)
  • Brand voice and product narrative management tools
  • MCP Enrichment Proxy for enhanced AI agent responses (Pro plan)
  • WebMCP browser tools for browser-based agents (Pro plan)
  • AI agent traffic analytics (Pro plan)
  • Review platform integration (Pro plan)

2. Account & Access

To use Bot It, you must have an active Shopify store and install the Bot It app through the Shopify App Store or a direct install link. By installing, you authorize Bot It to access your Shopify store data as specified in the app permissions.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Shopify account. Bot It relies on Shopify’s authentication and session management.

3. Plans & Billing

  • Free plan: Available at no cost with core features as described on our pricing page.
  • Pro plan: $29/month, billed through Shopify’s billing system. Includes a 30-day free trial.
  • All billing is handled by Shopify. Refunds are subject to Shopify’s billing policies.
  • You may upgrade or downgrade at any time. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
  • Prices are subject to change with 30 days’ notice.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in Bot It, including brand voice guidelines, product narratives, collection narratives, and FAQs (“Your Content”). By using the Service, you grant Bot It a license to:

  • Store and process Your Content to provide the Service
  • Include Your Content in MCP responses served to AI agents (this is the core function of Bot It)
  • Write Your Content to Shopify metafields when Knowledge Base sync is enabled

You represent that you have the right to use and share all content you enter into Bot It.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Bot It to serve false, misleading, or deceptive product information to AI agents
  • Attempt to manipulate AI agents in ways that violate their terms of service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of Bot It
  • Use Bot It to harm, abuse, or overload Shopify’s infrastructure or APIs
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide Bot It access to third parties
  • Use Bot It for any unlawful purpose

6. AI Agent Interactions

Bot It optimizes how AI agents interact with your store, but we do not control AI agent behavior. We cannot guarantee:

  • That any specific AI agent will recommend your products
  • Specific traffic volumes, conversion rates, or revenue outcomes
  • That AI agents will always honor the data served by Bot It
  • Continued compatibility with any specific AI agent’s protocols

AI agent platforms may change their protocols, terms, or behavior at any time. Bot It will make reasonable efforts to maintain compatibility.

7. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Bot It may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. If the MCP proxy is unavailable, AI agent queries will fall through to Shopify’s native Agentic Storefront — your store will not break.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bot It shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Bot It in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bot It, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

You may terminate your use of Bot It at any time by uninstalling the app from your Shopify store. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, with notice where practical.

Upon termination, your access to the Bot It dashboard and MCP proxy will cease. We will retain your data for 30 days to allow for reinstallation, after which it will be deleted upon request.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Bot It dashboard or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
